January Restorative Workshop
"Quietening the mind: resting deeply for rejuvenation"
Date 31st January 2-5pm
The Yoga Rooms Chorlton M21 8AG
£35/30
In this powerful restorative workshop we will create a reset for our body and mind during this time of quiet hibernation. As we know this time of year is not ideal for busyness and striving which is so often what is thrust upon us by external expectation, social media and our own habitual patterns.
So we will begin by taking gentle breath led movements, supported by the ground, to begin the process of releasing stagnation and confusion. This is called Tamas in yoga, and we need it at times to help us rest and sleep, but finding balance is essential. Too much and we will find it hard to function. And so by bringing in Sattva, the balancing quality of mind, through breath led, steady movements that reassure the nervous system and foster more of a feeling of safety. In this way we balance out excess Tamas and Rajas (activity which in excess causes restlessness but when in balance provides us with the energy to act).
By the end of the session you will feel profoundly relaxed and refreshed and prepared for the month ahead!

February Restorative Workshop
"Cultivating lightness: welcoming ease and pleasantness"
Date 28th February 2-5pm
The Yoga Rooms.Chorlton M21 8AG
£35/30
We may still be all to aware that we are still in winter, however already we are getting little glimpses of the lighter days and the fresh shoots pushing through the still cold earth.
This is a good time to begin to work with both the visual and felt sense of lightness gradually opening up in our environment and in our own bodies.
Working with the support of the breath we will explore encouraging ease of movement and a feeling of the inner support that is always present if we can rest and relax enough to allow it to emerge'

These are testing times for everyone, and this is true especially in the self employed health and wellbeing field. As our students look for ways to save money during a cost of living crisis, we may be feeling the pinch. How can we support ourselves and our communities through this?
Having a regular mentoring session is something that can be really helpful and in these sessions I help you to find the best ways forward with whatever issues you bring. The sessions are confidential and supportive and as well as my almost 30 years experience you will benefit from the perspectives of other teachers too.
